The image of the crown of thorns in our symbol signifies how far God was willing to extend his grace to us. Christ suffered and died, and bore the crown of shame in order to give us the crown of righteousness.

The Triune God, traditionally visualized with a triangle has revealed the plan of salvation to human kind. Christ arose from the grave, ascended into heaven, and sent us his Spirit.

The Holy Spirit has been given the biblical image of a dove. The Holy Spirit reminds us of the deed of Christ, who came as a light into the darkness.

Some of our families really enjoyed using the Creation Season Prayer Calendar in September and October, so we’re going to keep it going! Each month will have a theme. Unsurprisingly, November’s theme is Gratitude. Each day includes a suggestion for something to give thanks for. If the suggestion is general, think of people you know who fit in that category and pray for them by name. The specific foods are the 4 most common kid answers to “what is your favorite food”–feel free to substitute your own favorites. There are three days that have a suggestion specific to the life of our church: November 7: give thanks for your children’s worship leader(s), because children’s worship is coming back that day! November 21: give thanks for Pastor Jack and Eileen, because Pastor Jack is retiring from being Grace’s minister and this is their last Sunday with us. November 28: give thanks for Pastor Dave, who will be our interim pastor until we call a new Senior Pastor, and this is his first Sunday with us. For a printable calendar, click...
